March 8th: Today’s Feature - Part II: Sarah Parker Remond
As a good speaker and fundraiser, Remond was invited to take the cause of the American abolitionists to Britain, as her brother Charles had done 10 years earlier. Accompanied by the Reverend Samuel May Jr., she sailed from Boston for Liverpool on December 28, 1858, on the steamer Arahia. March 7th: Today’s Feature - Sarah Parker Remond, Lecturer, Activist and Abolitionist Campaigner
Sarah Parker Remond
Eventually becoming an agent of the American Anti-Slavery Society, in 1858 Sarah Remond chose to travel to Britain to gather support for the growing abolitionist cause in the United States. While in London, Remond also studied at Bedford College, lecturing during term breaks. During the American Civil War, she appealed for support among the British public for the Union and their blockade of the Confederacy.

March 6th: Today’s Feature - Melanie Veronique Eusebe, MBE; Entrepreneur and Author, Co-founder of The Black British Business Awards
Melanie Veronique Eusebe, MBE (born 12 March 1977) is a British entrepreneur and author, known for co-founding the Black British Business Awards in 2014. She has written for publications such as The Huffington Post and Management Today. She serves on the board of the Creative Industries Federation and teaches as a professor at the Hult International Business School in London.

March 5th: Today’s Feature - Sophie Tendai Chandauka, MBE; Corporate Finance Lawyer, Entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Black British Business Awards.
Sophie Tendai Chandauka, MBE, is a Zimbabwe-born corporate finance lawyer, entrepreneur and Head of Americas Risk Management and Intelligence at Meta. Previously, Chandauka was Global COO of Shared Services and Banking Operations at Morgan Stanley based in New York and prior to this, she was CAO of the Legal and Compliance Division of Morgan Stanley in EMEA, based in London. Before joining Morgan Stanley, she was the Head of Group Treasury (Legal) at Virgin Money in London.

In 2014, Sophie Chandauka MBE and Melanie Eusebe MBE, the co-founders of the Black British Business Awards, embarked on a mission to establish a platform that would bring attention to the exceptional Black talent in the United Kingdom. Their primary objective was to showcase that Black talent not only exists in the UK, but also in significant numbers.

Like any entrepreneurial journey, ours was not without challenges. Establishing credibility as a black-owned agency in a competitive market was an initial hurdle we had to overcome. We faced stereotypes and misconceptions head-on, demonstrating our expertise through persistent effort. Managing the agency's growth while maintaining a commitment to quality was another challenge.

Myles Jensen is an LJMU alumni of Liverpool Business School, and a co-founder, director and consultant at Jensen and Jensen, a creative and strategic insight marketing consultancy that he runs with his twin brother Bradley.
At 28, he’s a successful Entrepeneur and in 2023 was named as a finalist in the tenth annual Black British Business Awards in the Entrepreneur Rising Star category alongside his twin brother.

March 1st: Today’s Feature - Brendon Martin Batson, OBE, Footballer
Brendon Batson
Born in St. George's, Grenada, Batson moved with his family to Trinidad at the age of 6 and then migrated from the West Indies to England when he was nine years old in 1962. Until then he had never even seen a game of football and a teacher at his school, on watching his early efforts and reflecting on his birthplace said, "Well, perhaps cricket is your game." February 28th: Today’s Feature - Don Warrington, MBE, Actor
Don Warrington was born in Trinidad, but moved to England with his mother and brother at a young age, while his sister stayed in Trinidad. He was brought up in Newcastle upon Tyne. His father, Basil Kydd, was a Trinidadian politician who died in 1958. Warrington attended Harris College (now the University of Central Lancashire) and trained as an actor at the Drama Centre London. As there was already an actor called Don Williams when he joined Equity, he took the stage surname
