March 17th: Today’s Feature -Lois Patricia Golding, OBE, CStJ; Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol
Lois Patricia Golding OBE, CStJ, commonly known as Peaches Golding (born 1953), is an American-British business executive, administrator, and former academic who is Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol. On her 2010 appointment as High Sheriff of Bristol, she was the second Black person and the first Black woman to hold the position. She was appointed Honorary Captain of the Royal Naval Reserves in June 2020.

March 16th: Today’s Feature - Hyacinth Hall, Headmistress
Hyacinth Hall, Bristol's first pioneering black headmistress, dedicated her life to fighting against inequality and making a positive impact on the lives of young students and families within the city's black community.
Originally from Jamaica, she arrived in England in 1958 and assumed the role of headteacher at St Paul's St Barnabas Primary School in 1985. Her remarkable contributions to education were recognised and celebrated during a ceremony held at Bishopston Library

March 12th: Today’s Feature - Clyde Cyril Best, OBE; Footballer
Clyde Cyril Best, OBE ( b.24 February 1951) is a Bermudian former football player. He was one of the first black players in First Division football in England, scoring 47 goals as a striker for West Ham United between 1968 and 1976.

March 10th: Today’s Feature - Ainsley Denzil Dubriel Harriott, MBE; TV Chef and Presenter
Ainsley Harriott was born in Paddington, London, to Peppy (nee Strudwick), and Chester Leroy Harriott. His father was a pianist and singer, and he had Jamaican heritage. Harriott attended Wandsworth Comprehensive School before pursuing his culinary passion. He trained at Westminster Kingsway College and secured an apprenticeship at Verrey's restaurant in London's West End, where he started his career as a commis chef.

March 9th: Today’s Feature - Lorenzo "Laurel” Aitken; Singer, Songwriter, Musician
Lorenzo "Laurel" Aitken, (22 April 1927 - 17 July 2005), was a renowned Cuban-Jamaican singer who played a significant role in shaping the ska music genre. Known as the "Godfather of Ska," Aitken's influence and contributions to the music industry are widely recognised and celebrated.
Aitken's career began in Cuba, where he was born to parents of mixed Cuban and Jamaican heritage. In 1938, his family relocated to Jamaica, setting the stage for his musical journey.
