Dr Melrose Stewart MBE was born in Jamaica in 1954, and made her way to the UK in 1965 where she pursued her passion for physiotherapy by obtaining her qualification as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the prestigious Bristol Royal Infirmary School of Physiotherapy in 1975.
After her studies, she embarked on a successful career as a lecturer at the University of Birmingham, where she dedicated many years of her life imparting knowledge to aspiring physiotherapists.

Carlos Yunior Acosta Quesada CBE (born 2 June 1973) is a Cuban-British ballet director and retired dancer who is director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. He danced with many companies including the English National Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Houston Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.
He was a permanent member of The Royal Ballet from 1998 to 2015.

Franklyn DaCosta Stephenson (born 8 April 1959) is a former cricketer from Barbados who played as a right handed batsman and pacer. Stephenson played as an allrounder for his native Barbados together with Tasmania, Orange Free State, Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire and Sussex in his cricketing career. As an aggressive middle-order batsman and genuinely quick pacer, he was also known for being one of the greatest exponents of the slower ball.

Joan Jeanetta Baptiste (born 12 October 1959) is a former British sprinter who competed mainly in the 100 metres, 200 metres and 4 x 100 metres relay. She won a silver medal at the inaugural World Championships in 1983 in the 4 × 100 m relay and competed in the 200 metres at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
